"Testing and automation" is a separate discipline from "Engineering Productivity". Going from first one to another may be personal evolution for individuals in their career development. I am really missing articles about testing itself in this "google testing blog". Just in 2017 there was headless Chrome and puppeteer releases, webdriver become W3C standard - none of these news were even mentioned here. Testing as discipline will not just disappear, it's processes and tools evolve and I was hoping to get information about how they evolve from this blog or GTAC.
No dates or locations to report at this time. We are actively working with industry partners on what we can take to the next level here. Stay tuned and we will keep folks posted as plans come together.
Sorry to retract my earlier statement, and to disappoint :-(
We are still evaluating our plans around an external conference or event, and right now do not have plans to host this event in 2019. It's not for a lack of interest or desire, but it's proving more difficult than originally thought.
Would love to attend GTAC in 2020! Thus far only viewed google recordings and found them tremendously useful. You guys have a down to earth take on automation in testing, talked about real challenges and how you came about in resolving them.
It's been years since there was a GTAC and I really wanted to go the year it was cancelled - any idea whether this conference will return in 2020 or is it just a pipe dream at this point?
GTAC has become the beacon in the test industry. We would love to see Google's next step of evolving test automation and engineering productivity.
ReplyDeleteLooking forward to the next blog post.
Looking forward to the next GTAC, wish it back soon!
ReplyDeleteWish I can make a speech in 2018 ~
