Thanks for sharing some Google insight Patrick ! The whole management structure is definitely something different from any large company and the OKRs are actually very inspiring. I was actually learning about them no later than a couple of day ago here: http://bit.ly/dazNxH I'm wondering if everyone joining Google is able to adapt to this model. Looking at Google success, I guess most of them do :-)
What differentiate Google with the rest is the strong focus from developers toward quality ie. Unit tests (lots of them from what I've gathered at GTAC), mandatory Code Review etc. The development culture has been built with quality as a core value and it definitely shows. It's definitely inspiring.
