    Hi Allen,
    What happened to London?

We decided on New York this time to expand the audience and allow more voices into the process. Instead of doing the conference in the same place every year, we are planning to use a different Google Engineering office for each conference. This gives us the opportunity to hear from people who wouldn't normally be able to travel to a conference in any single place. We'll be getting feedback from the community this year on where the conference should be in 2008.

Thanks Allen. I understand, that is a very democratic way of running it. I was just selfishly hoping it would stay close to home. (Feel free to consider that my bid for the 2008 Olympics of testing.)

Can anybody describe the "1st annual" conference? I'd like to be able to look at a previous program and get an idea of how to phrase my proposal for a presentation.

Absolutely! The presentations from the conference are all online. Go to Google Video and search for "Google Test.Automation.Conference".
    Cheers,
    Harry

Is this like a normal conference where everyone pays their own expenses? I'm in an european academic org and have some new results I'd like to share but I'm not sure they consider it "researchy" enough for me to attend.

Google will be paying the majority of expenses for speakers (hotel and flight).

I submitted a proposal yesterday (GMT+1 - it's still 6th April somewhere in parts of the US) but didn't get a acknowledgement of receival. Is there some way of knowing it properly arrived?

    best & thanks, holger

Yes... I loved last years, and I'm looking forward to coming again without crossing an ocean to do it... where, and how to enroll? Besides, there's got to be new toilet testing guides by now.

    Hi Friends,

I am a participant of GTAC - 2007 at New York.
This year it is supposed to be held in Hyderabad, India as per Allen's concluding talks last year during the conference.
But I did not see any more information on that, even after sending direct emails to Amy Gepreft at Google.
Please let me know information on when the submissions for presentation papers are going to start and also for the registration.
